Brussels – The European Council has reaffirmed its commitment to the signing of the Association Agreement with Ukraine.

A diplomat told an Interfax-Ukraine reporter that Lithuania initiated the adoption of such a conclusion.

As reported, Lithuania will chair the EU in the second half of 2013. Vilnius will host the Eastern Partnership Summit in November 2013.

It is expected that in case Ukraine fulfills all tasks outlined in the Council’s conclusions approved in December, Kyiv and Brussels will sign the Association Agreement during the summit.
