The European Union is conducting internal work to make possible the signing of the Association Agreement with Ukraine, but the political situation in the country complicates this process, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fuele has said.
“The EU is conducting the necessary internal preparations in order to make possible the signing of the Association Agreement. We’re absolutely serious in the context of our commitments concerning the political association and economic integration,” Fuele said at a meeting with Ukrainian lawmakers in Kyiv on Thursday.
At the same time, he said that the political situation in Ukraine complicates and slows down this process.
