“Today, we celebrate the 416th anniversary of the birth of the great Ukrainian political, church and educational figure Petro Mohyla. We have a good opportunity to recall that Ukraine was not only the first country in Eastern Europe to open its own university, but in 17-19th centuries it was the source of spreading European humanist ideas in the whole region,” the press service quoted the deputy prime minister.

“Paying tribute to Petro Mohyla, we should have a deeper look at Ukraine’s mission in the region and the continent. Our success on the path of the introduction of European principles and standards in all areas of life will allow Ukraine again assume a special role in Eastern Europe,” Gryshchenko  said.
