The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is planning to organize humanitarian aid for eastern Ukraine, which is why the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is sending its Head of Operations for Europe and Central Asia Laurent Corbaz to Kyiv once again, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported on Aug. 19.
“Over the next few days Corbaz is planning yet another visit to Kyiv in connection with the URCS’ intention to organize its own humanitarian aid for the east of Ukraine,” Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said at a briefing in Kyiv on Aug. 19.
