Ukraine expects Russia to present its estimates of possible risks from the Ukrainian-European Union association agreement's entry into effect by July 20, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

“We expect that Russia will present its estimates regarding the real
risks existing from the implementation of the association agreement
between Ukraine and the EU by July 20. These arguments and estimates
will be analyzed at an expert level by Sept. 1, and the next round
of tripartite consultations at the ministerial level between Ukraine,
the EU and Russia is planned for Sept.12,” Ukrainian Foreign
Ministry spokesman Vasyl Zvarych said.

Ukraine will inquire whether “Armenia, for instance, will have to
reconsider its customs tariffs with the other World Trade Organiozation members, including
Ukraine, after joining this union [the Eurasian Economic Union],” he
said.

“After all, we know that Armenia is also a WTO member,” he said.

It was reported earlier that Brussels had hosted another round of
ministerial consultations between Ukraine, Russia, and the EU on July
11, which addressed the implementation of the Ukrainian-EU association
agreement.

The next ministerial meeting will take place in Brussels on Sept. 12 to summarize the outcomes of the expert discussions and propose
possible solutions to outstanding issues.

Ukraine, Russia, and the EU had agreed earlier to set up a tripartite
consultation mechanism to assess and eliminate potential risks to trade
and economic development from the implementation of the Ukrainian-EU
association agreement.

Ukraine and the EU signed the economic section of the association
agreement in Brussels on June 27, which envisions the establishment of a
deep and comprehensive free trade area between them.
