You're reading: Lithuanian Foreign Minister: Ukraine-Russia-EU dialogue is not option

Brussels - The Lithuanian presidency of the European Union rejects the Ukrainian government's proposal to hold a Ukraine-Russia-EU dialogue, said Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius.

He said in a statement obtained by Interfax in Brussels that the
Ukrainian proposal was unprecedented and that it was not an option.

He said the EU bilateral association offer remains on the table, and
they did not see any role that a third country could play in the
process.

The Ukrainian government posted a resolution on Nov. 21 to
suspend preparations for signing the association agreement with the
European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community and their member
states.

At the same time, the Ukrainian government initiated the
establishment of a tripartite commission with the European Union and
Russia.
