The Slovak parliament will soon ratify Ukraine-EU Association Agreement, Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak has said.

He said that his country is very glad that the parliaments of both
countries would ratify the Association deal in next few days, the Slovak
diplomat said after the talks with Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo
Klimkin in Kyiv on Sept. 11.

Lajcak added that Slovakia completely supports independence and
sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as supports stable and democratic
development of Ukraine.

We have never recognized annexation of Crimea and will never do this.
We supported all initiatives of the EU aimed at improvement of the
situation in Ukraine. It also concerns sanctions, the Slovak minister
said.

He added that Slovak Republic supports implementation of the Petro
Poroshenko’s peace plan and positively estimates the last achieved
agreements regarding the situation in Donbas.

The talks that now are going on will help Ukraine to become stable and prospering state, he said.

Klimkin, in turn, thanked Slovak Republic for its position regarding
sovereignty of the Ukrainian state, as well as for the humanitarian aid
and the country’ help in general in such difficult times.

“The Slovak Republic has always supported the president’s peace plan, every step of the way” Klimkin said.
