Ukrainian Prime Minister Yatseniuk has instructed relevant ministries, the management of Naftogaz Ukrainy and regional state administrations to switch to the plan of the power industry functioning without Russian gas supplies starting from June 16, the government's press service reported.

Naftogaz Ukrainy and the justice minister of Ukraine have been
instructed to complete the procedure of preparing to defend Ukraine’s
interests in relations between Naftogaz and Gazprom in the Stockholm
Arbitration Court, the press service said.

Yatseniuk also asked senior officials from the national commission
regulating the electricity sector to establish economically justified
tariffs for Russian natural gas transportation across Ukraine.

The Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry
have been instructed to inform the European Union and the United States
“about the deliberate disruption by the Russian Federation of the talks
between Naftogaz Ukrainy and Gazprom over gas supplies, and its
rejection of Ukraine’s constructive proposals reflecting the position of
the European Commission.”

“The deliberate unilateral refusal by the Russian Federation to
resolve this conflict undermines the energy security of Ukraine and the
European Union,” Yatseniuk claimed.
