The Ukrainian government intends to implement the Association Agreement with the European Union from the very first day after its ratification by the Ukrainian and European parliaments and will decide on its implementation at the Sep. 17 sitting, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.

“Hopefully, the Rada will vote for ratification by a constitutional
majority tomorrow. The government will implement the agreement starting
from the very first day; we have scheduled a government sitting for
Wednesday and we will decide on the implementation of this agreement,”
the prime minister said in the Svoboda Slova (Freedom of Speech) program
aired by the ICTV channel on Monday night, Sep. 15.

Speaking of the upcoming Rada hearing of a bill on the special status
of certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Yatsenyuk
underscored that the bill must be based on the territorial integrity of
Ukraine.

“As to the so-called special status, it is necessary to hear it at
the parliament tomorrow and to see the final edition of this bill. What
should be the focal point of this bill? The territorial integrity,
sovereignty and validity of the Ukrainian laws and the Ukrainian
constitution throughout the territory of the Ukrainian state must be
indisputable,” he stated.
