You're reading: More than a hundred fans asked Kyiv medics for aid during Euro 2012

One hundred and seven fans have asked for medical aid in Kyiv since the start of the Euro 2012 championship, of which 59 were foreigners. Ten patients are being treated at in-patient departments.

"From June 8 this year, 107 patients asked for medical aid from all places of residence of guests and fans (including Zhuliany airport, central railway station), of which 59 are foreigners," deputy head of the main health care department at Kyiv City State Administration Alla Areshkovych said at the press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.

According to her, during the match of Ukrainian and Swedish national teams, which took place in Kyiv at Olympiysky National Sports Complex on June 11, the patients addressed predominantly complaining about minor injures, scratches and high blood pressure.

"Concerning the holding of the Ukraine-Sweden match, I want to note that complaints in most cases were minor, there were no complications, no bad cases of disease or injury," Areshkovych said.

At the stadium 36 patients, of which six were foreigners, sought medical aid. After the end of the match three fans were hospitalized from the stadium. All received medical aid, and none remain in the in-patient department today.

As the deputy head reported, as of Wednesday morning ten patients, of which eight are foreigners, are receiving care in in-patient departments.

Moreover, four Swedish fans from Trukhaniv Island appealed to the doctors concerning insect stings and ticks, one complained of allergic reactions to a sting, and six cases of minor wounds also were recorded.

Talking about infectious diseases, she said that according to the sanitary epidemiological service, there were no registered cases of infectious disease recorded in the city for five days.
