Rail carriers from Ukraine, Poland, Russia and Belarus have signed a memorandum in Warsaw on cooperation in the organization of railway passenger transportation during the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, according to the press service of State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia.

The memorandum was signed by Russian Federal Passenger Company CEO Mikhail Akulov, Board Chairman of PKP Intercity Janusz Malinowski, Deputy Director General of Belarusian Railway Vladimir Mikhayliuk and Ukrzaliznytsia Main Passenger Department Head Oleksandr Ivanko.

According to the memorandum, the parties will organize additional passenger trains to transport fans between the cities of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Poland, optimizing customs and border procedures for Euro 2012 guests.

Concepts for interchange links between Russia and Poland have been developed for this purpose.

It is assumed that 42 rail trips will be carried out to Poland from Russia through Belarus during Euro 2012. Some 18 additional trains will be put on between Ukraine and Poland.
