Ukrainian gas pipeline operator Ukrtransgaz has successfully completed test transmission of gas from Slovakia to Ukraine on the Vojany-Uzhgorod route, Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Andriy Kobolev said in a Facebook post late on Aug. 29 evening.

“Vojany-Uzhgorod: test transmission of gas at scheduled volumes of 27 mcm/day (27 million cubic meters per day) have been successfully completed,” Kobolev said, adding his thanks to everyone who took part in the process.

The official launch of the Vojany-Uzhgorod route, which will be the second biggest source of gas supplies for Ukraine after Russia, is scheduled for Sept. 2, at an expected 27 million cubic meters a day.
