The Kyiv Okrug Court of Appeals on April 24 passed a ruling saying President Viktor Yushchenko's decree dated May 24, 2007, dismissing Sviatoslav Piskun from the post of the prosecutor general was unlawful.
Ukrainian News learned this from a representative of the press service of MP Sviatoslav Piskun.

According to the representative, the court has found unlawful the presidential decree dated May 24, 2007.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, MP Piskun representing the parliamentary faction of the Party of Regions has said he was dismissed illegally.

Oleksandr Medvedko has been the Ukrainian prosecutor general since June 2007.
