You're reading: Language column taken out of broadcast licenses, says National Broadcasting Council

The National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting has approved a new application form for issuance, extension, renewal and issuance of duplicate of broadcast licenses, from which a column dubbed 'language(s) of broadcast (percentage)' has been removed. 

A relevant order was signed by the chairman of the regulatory body, Volodymyr Manzhosov, on Monday, August 20, 2012, according to the National Council’s Web site.

“These documents were prepared in connection with the entry into force of the Law of Ukraine on the principles of state language policy as well as taking into account numerous requests by business entities. Representatives of the National Council in the regions, in the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol are obliged to inform heads of broadcasting organizations about the possibility of renewal of broadcast licenses,” the report says.
