Seventy-four deputies of the regional council voted for the decision
and eight deputies voted against it, according to the regional online
newspaper Novosti-N.
The majority of the deputies that supported the decision were from
the Regions Party and the Communist Party of Ukraine, while the
opponents of the decision were from the Front for Change Party and the
Batkivschyna Party.
As reported, on August 21, 2012 Mykolaiv City Council declared Russian a regional language in the city.
