According to Fruit-Inform Project, Ukraine currently faces the unprecedented situation when retail prices of cabbage, traditional for our country, are practically at the same levels with prices for exotic bananas and even sometimes higher. “Currently, wholesale prices of late cabbage reach UAH 9-10/kg (EUR 0,80-0,90/kg) that is absolutely record-breaking level for all history of independent Ukraine”, Andriy Yarmak, Head of Fruit-Inform Project, says. “Such prices for cabbage are more than unusual for mid March as prices usually reach the highest levels in the second half of April”, the expert continues.
