You're reading: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go

In English, a special term – Christmas creep – was coined up to define the phenomenon of how seasonal decorations and shopping rush start earlier with every year.

Yet in Ukraine all things Christmas still appear in December, closely followed by the three seasonal culminations of Catholic and Protestant Christmas on Dec. 25, New Year’s on Dec. 31-Jan. 1, and Orthodox Christmas on Jan. 7.

A must-see for children are the lights and decorations on Maidan Nezalezhnosti, and Roshen factory located close to Demiyivska metro station.

This merry-go-round appeared on Kreshchatyk Street.
