You're reading: WoodTV: Ukrainian ArtPrize artist can’t get in to US (VIDEO)

An ArtPrize entry by a Ukrainian painter was allowed in to the United States, but the artist wasn't. In a window at the Grand Rapids Police Department on Monroe Center, there hangs an 2-foot-tall acrylic painting. It shows a woman with white hair, red lips and bright blue eyes. On one side of her is a peaceful, sunny forest. On the other is burning a tree.
