You're reading: Central Election Commission head says no need in second round of presidential elections

Head of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine Mykhailo Okhendovsky has said that there is no need to hold the second round of the presidential election in Ukraine.

“Although the Central Election Commission has not received all
reports, the main conclusion can be made: there is no need to hold
runoff elections, given, first, the trends seen in the vote count,
second, the number of ballots cast for the presidential candidates and,
third, the fact that one of the candidates is vividly ahead of the
others in all regions without exception,” he said at a press briefing on
Monday.

Okhendovsky announced that no reports have arrived from three
electoral districts located in Donetsk region – Oleksandrivka (No.47),
Krasnoarmiysk (No.50) and Velyka Novosilka (No.60).

There is no software in Electoral District No.60 to provide reports
online. Therefore, these reports will be taken into account after they
are provided on paper.
