Ukrainian President-elect Petro Poroshenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed at their brief meeting on Friday that a Russian envoy who will be involved in the settlement of conflict issues will come to Ukraine, Poroshenko said.

A Russian envoy will come to Ukraine, and the first steps to settle the situation and the plan I proposed as president with a number of steps to be taken by the Russian Federation and by Ukraine will be discussed with him. Meanwhile, we anticipatorily see that we may have a good chance of making it true,” Poroshenko told reporters in Ouistreham, France, on Friday night.

Poroshenko also said that Ukraine expects the Russian Federation to make a statement in the near future on recognizing the elections.
