President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with UK Prime Minister David Cameron in the course of which the latter reiterated his strong and consistent support for Ukraine and the actions of the president.

Cameron said Britain was ready to provide financial assistance of 1 billion pounds to Ukraine, allocated by it for UN humanitarian assistance, the presidential press service reported.

The UK premier also asked about the issue of humanitarian assistance for Luhansk.

The president, in turn, reported on recent developments, saying that the Ukrainian part of the international humanitarian assistance in the framework of the Red Cross mission was on its way to Luhansk.

Besides, Poroshenko expressed concern over the situation on the border, particularly, over the fact that the inflow of Russian arms and military machines in Ukraine through the open part of the border continued.

The parties also discussed international efforts for the dialogue on the possibility to settle the situation in the Donbas and the prospects of enhancing military-technical cooperation.
