Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said Hr 2 billion will be provided for the rebuilding of the eastern regions of Ukraine and Hr 9 billion will be provided to Ukrainians involved in the military operation.

“The total amount of funding provided for the rebuilding of Donbas is Hr 2 billion, and the financing of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the National Guard, every Ukrainian who is now involved in the anti-terrorist operation and the fight for Ukraine has been increased by Hr 9 billion,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on July 31.

Billions will be spent on new types of weapons for the Ukrainian army under a state defense contract, Yatseniuk said.

“The main expenditures will be money payable to people. The second thing is new types of weapons. I have signed a state defense contract and we spend billions on new types of weapons under this contract,” he said.

Another key expenditure is the provision of fuel and lubricants to the Ukrainian army and the preparation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for winter, Yatseniuk said.

“Everything will depend on how the campaign will go, but we allocate these funds too,” he said.
