Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Thursday called for an immediate cessation of hostilities between government forces and separatists in Ukraine in the east of the country in the area of the Malaysia Airlines plane crash.

“We ask there be an immediate cessation of hostilities in and around
the crash site by both Ukrainian and separatist forces,” he said after
talks with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in The Hague on July 31.

“We ask that all sides respect the lives lost and the integrity of
the crash site so that the investigation may proceed. The long walk
towards justice begins with this step,” Razak said.
