You're reading: Rasmussen trying to exert pressure on MH17 probe – Russian mission to NATO

Moscow - Russia's permanent mission to NATO has called a statement by NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen that he allegedly has proofs that militia are guilty of bringing down the MH17 flight over Ukraine as an attempt to exert pressure on the investigation.

“NATO Secretary General decided not to wait until the end of #MH17
investigation and exert pressure on it…” the mission tweeted in the
early hours of Monday, Aug. 4.

Head of the State Duma foreign affairs committee Alexei Pushkov for
his part thinks that Rasmussen has no proofs of militia’s guilt on the
Boeing crash.

“If Rasmussen had convincing proofs of militia’s guilt of bringing
down the Boeing, he would provide them. But he has nothing but
rhetoric,” Pushkov tweeted in the early hours of Monday, Aug. 4.

Rasmussen said earlier in an interview with France’s Midi Libre
newspaper that he possessed information that militia are guilty of the
MH17 crash.

The Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 flight MH17 en route from Amsterdam
to Kuala Lumpur crashed in the Donetsk region on July 17, killing all
298 people on board.
