Moscow - Russia received the invitation to participate in the investigation of the Malaysian Boeing crash just several days ago and got to work immediately, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in a statement.

“As to the cooperation itself, according to the existing
international standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO), while not being a participant of the aviation accident, Russia
can not come and say – hello, we start to participate in the probe,” the
document said.

“We should receive an official invitation from the international
committee, in other words from the Dutch party. Such an invitation was
sent just several days ago and after that we appointed our
representatives immediately,” Lukashevich said.
