If the elections for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine were held next week, the largest number of votes would be garnered by the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko (33.5 percent), Oleh Liashko's Radical Party (12.8 percent) and People's Front (8.9 percent), according to a survey conducted by the Rating Sociological Group on Oct. 1-8.

In addition, 7.8 percent of voters are ready to support Sergiy Tigipko’s Strong Ukraine, 6.9 percent Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union, 5.4 percent Samopomich Union, and 5.1 percent of respondents would vote for the Opposition Bloc.

Anatoliy Hrytsenko’s Civil Position (4.5 percent) and Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union (4 percent) would not overcome the 5 percent election threshold. Almost 2 percent of those polled would vote for the Right Sector Party, and over 5 percent would support other parties.

The survey showed that 35 percent of respondents would definitely take part in the parliamentary elections and that 40 percent would most likely go to the polls.

“The predicted voter turnout compared to June-July has decreased from 59 percent to 55 percent,” the head of the group, Oleksiy Antypovych, said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

A total of 2,000 respondents aged over 18 were interviewed. The poll’s margin of error does not exceed 2.2 percent.
