You're reading: Seven Ukrainian parties likely to qualify for Rada

Seven political parties are likely to garner enough votes to qualify for the 8th Verkhovna Rada, as is evident from a public opinion survey conducted by the Social Monitoring center.

The poll showed that 39.8% of the respondents plan to vote for the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, 11.2% for the Radical Party led by Oleh Liashko, 10.4% for the Popular Front, 5.9% for Batkivschyna, 5.2% for Svoboda, 5.2% for Civil Position, and 5.1% for Strong Ukraine.

The Opposition Bloc with 4.9% and the Samopomich Association with 4.4% of supporters are slightly short of the necessary amount of votes to qualify for the parliament.

The poll of 2,021 respondents aged 18 and older was conducted in all regions of Ukraine, including the parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions controlled by the government forces, from Sept. 30 to October 7, 2014.

The early parliamentary elections in Ukraine are scheduled for Oct. 26, 2014.
