The Czech Republic and Hungary will send their observers to the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which will be held on Oct. 28.

This is stated in the letters by Czech Prime Minister Petr Necas and
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Ukrainian President Viktor
Yanukovych.

According to the president’s press service, Necas noted the
importance of the parliamentary elections in the view of Ukraine’s
intentions to join the European Union.

“The Czech Republic has always supported Ukraine in its European
orientation. We welcome Ukraine’s commitment to ensure the observance of
electoral rights of Ukrainians, which are laid down in the
Constitution, during the elections,” the Czech prime minister said in
his letter.

In turn, Orban noted in his letter that Hungary supports political
stability in Ukraine recognizing the important role of the parliamentary
elections in the way the international community will look at the
country.

“We are happy to respond to your request and will join the delegation
of international observers to the elections to the extent possible,”
Orban said.
