Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has said that the program on partial compensation of credit rates from the national budget to farmers should be introduced.

“This is the least corrupted and most efficient mechanism: the state will compensate depending on our resources, for example, 50 percent of the total credit rate,” the press service of the Ukrainian government reported, citing the prime minister speaking at a meeting with farmers in Poltava region on Oct. 17.

He also said that as a part of the operation of the Cabinet of Ministers and the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) the task of compensating the credit rate and providing hryvnia-pegged credits to the agricultural sector is set.

Yatseniuk said that the discussion with representatives of the agricultural sector on the change of the taxation system continues. He reminded that the present value added tax special account system should be changed to the regime of direct subsidies from the national budget. However, he said that this will be possible after fighting corruption.
