Washington/Moscow - The verdict delivered by the Khamovnichesky court of Moscow in the Pussy Riot case is unfair, the U.S. Embassy to Russia said.

"Today's verdict in the Pussy Riot case looks disproportionate," according to a statement posted on the Embassy's Twitter page.

On Friday, the Moscow court sentenced the Pussy Riot members, who staged a controversial performance at the Christ the Savior Cathedral, to two years at a medium-security prison.
