You're reading: Armenia denies purchasing missile systems in Ukraine

Yerevan, Armenia - The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied media reports claiming that it has bought Ukrainian multiple rocket launchers and mobile surface-to-air missile systems.

“Azerbaijan is again spreading misinformation,” Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Interfax.

Armenia has been publishing reports about its military purchases in compliance with international conventions, he said.

Azeri media earlier circulated reports saying that Ukrainian weapons were covertly delivered to Armenia in 2011. These claims have been denied by the Ukrainian Embassy in Azerbaijan.
