Moscow, December 14 (Interfax-AVN) - The CIS Executive Committee and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretariat signed a cooperation memorandum in Moscow on Dec. 14.

"The memorandum defines key areas of cooperation between the CIS Executive Committee and the CSTO Secretariat. That is a working document but it is very important for us because it will allow for closer contacts in security. We need to coordinate the content and time of particular events," CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev said.

"The memorandum will boost our cooperation," CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said.

"We have been actively interacting with the CIS Executive Committee, but this document will help us use all security cooperation instruments for the benefit of our member countries," he said.
