Baikonur - Eight launch vehicles will take off from Baikonur in November-December 2011, a spaceport representative told Interfax.

"There will be eight more space launches from Baikonur before the end of this year – four in November and four in December," he said.

"A Proton-M rocket will bring three Glonass-M satellites to orbit on Nov. 3. Russia’s Phobos Grunt interplanetary research rover will start its mission on board a Zenit-2M rocket on November 9. The Soyuz TMA-22 spaceship will be launched on November 14 to bring a new crew to the International Space Station (ISS)," he said.

A Proton-M will blast off from Baikonur on November 25 to deliver the AsiaSat7 Chinese satellite to orbit.

"Next month’s launches will start with a Soyuz-2 takeoff on December 5 to position six Globalstar-2 communication satellites. Another Soyuz rocket will be launched on December 21 to carry Soyuz TMA-03M to the ISS," he said.

There will be two launches of Proton rockets as well. Russia’s Luch-5A satellite and Israel’s Amos-5 satellite will be launched on December 11. The SES-4 telecom satellite will be positioned in orbit on December 28, the source said.
