TBILISI – The Ministers' Deputies of the Council of Europe have passed a decision regarding the conflict in Georgia, which declared a breach of the Georgian sovereignty by the treaties signed between Russia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Georgian Foreign Ministry representative David Kereselidze said on Wednesday.

“This is the first time an official international document states that the treaties of alliance and integration signed by Russia with Abkhazia and de facto authorities of the Tskhinvali district flagrantly violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia,” the Georgian diplomat said.

The decision said the treaties “were void,” Kereselidze stated.

The Ministers’ Deputies said in their decision that Russia continued to install barbed wire and other obstacles in the Georgian regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which violated civil rights, including the right to free movement, the Georgian diplomat said.
