“The CIS free trade zone agreement will enter into force on September 20 for Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. We would welcome the affiliation of the CIS countries, which have not done that for particular reasons. As you know, negotiations are underway with Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the International Affairs magazine.
“We are confident that this agreement will give an additional impetus to our economic relations with CIS member countries. We expect good dynamics [of the relations with] Ukraine – the largest trade partner of Russia in the CIS,” the minister said.
