Lavrov says Russia and US want to spread truce regime to new territories of Syria

MOSCOW - Russian and U.S. military officials are working on spreading the cessation of hostilities regime to new districts of Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said.

“Work is being conducted, primarily by the Russian and American military…, to consolidate the cessation of hostilities regime, spread it to new districts and create optimal conditions for delivering humanitarian aid,” he said at the start of his meeting with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.
