MOSCOW- McDonald's plans to invest around $120 million in constructing new restaurants in Russia in 2012, the company's Vice President for Development Victor Eidemiller told Interfax.

The company also plans to set aside over $15 million for reconstructing existing restaurants in 2012. McDonald’s currently has 298 restaurants in Russia.

Next year, McDonald’s plans to open roughly 45 new restaurants in Russia, Eidemiller said.

The company has already opened 25 new restaurants this year, and by the end of the year it plans to open a few more. By 2016-2017, McDonald’s plans to open 75 new restaurants in Russia per year.
The McDonald’s chain manages over 32,000 restaurants in 117 countries.

Three-quarters of the facilities operate under the control of the franchisee. McDonald’s has a staff of around 1.7 million people
