The authors of the European Parliament resolution, which linked the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions to the restoration of Ukraine's control over Crimea, should take a look at the world map, which marks the peninsula as a Russian territory, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Meshkov has said.

“To want does not mean to have. The Crimea issue is definitively closed. Let them look at the world map, which marks Crimea as one of Russian regions,” he told Interfax.

Meshkov was asked to comment on the European Parliament resolution passed last week, which linked the lifting of EU sanctions to the restoration of Ukraine’s control over Crimea.
