You're reading: Russian government under attack from pro-Kremlin party

MOSCOW — The leader of a pro-Kremlin party in Russia's parliament says he hopes some government ministers will resign because they are unfit for their job.

Vladimir Vasilyev’s Wednesday attack on Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s government came hours after a news website showed President Vladimir Putin threatening with dismissal the audience that purportedly consisted of government ministers.

Putin’s spokesman said that president’s outburst was directed at several regional governors, not government ministers.

Vasilyev did not name any particular ministers, but mentioned that the party’s relations with the education minister are “not working out.”
