MOSCOW — A Russian health official said the death toll from last weekend's nightclub fire in the Urals city of Perm has risen to 146.

Regional health chief in the neighboring city of Chelyabinsk Viktor Shepelev said in televised remarks that a woman died overnight of severe burns in a local clinic where she was taken after the fire. Three others also died Friday.

About 85 people still remain hospitalized, half of them in critical condition.

The blaze at the Lame Horse nightclub broke out on Dec. 5 when an indoor fireworks display ignited a plastic ceiling. The flames spread as hundreds of customers tried to flee through a single exit.

Five people have been jailed pending an investigation into the fire, including the club’s owner.
