You're reading: Thirty one hurt in Moscow restaurant blast still in hospitals

A total of 31 people were admitted to hospitals after being injured as a result of Monday's explosion and fire at a restaurant in southwestern Moscow, a medical source told Interfax.

"All in all, 41 people were injured. Two of them died. Thirty-one more were hospitalized. Eight other people refused to go to the hospital after receiving medical care," he said.

Nineteen people remain in hospitals’ intensive care units, the source said, assessing the condition of three of them as critical.

Some investigators have blamed a gas-air mixture flare-up in the restaurant’s kitchen for the blast.
