You're reading: Blokhin undergoes successful surgery in Kyiv

FC Dynamo Kyiv Chief Coach Oleh Blokhin underwent a successful operation at Kyiv-based Boris Clinic on October 6 after doctors discovered that he had thrombosis of the left internal carotid artery.

President of the Boris Clinic Mykhailo Radutsky said that the surgery was successful and that after it Blokhin’s condition was normal for the postoperative period.

In turn, FC Dynamo Kyiv President Ihor Surkis said that he was allowed to see Blokhin for a couple of minutes.

“He was conscious and he recognized me. We had a brief talk. I came to the clinic with my father, Mykhailo Davydovych, who is an experienced neuropathologist, to check Oleh Volodymyrovych’s reflexes after the surgery. According to the experienced neuropathologist, Blokhin’s reflexes are excellent. So, I really hope that the worst is behind him. Of course, the best doctors are taking care of Oleh Volodymyrovych, and we wish him to get well soon,” Surkis said.

Radutsky also said that Blokhin will return to his coach activity, but added that no one knows when this will happen.

“Only God knows how much time this will take, I don’t want to answer this question in principle,” the doctor said.
