  Kharkiv, November 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Mykhailo Dobkin has headed Kharkiv Regional Football Federation.

Dobkin was elected unanimously at the conference of Kharkiv Regional Football Federation on Friday, the press service of the regional state administration reported.

“I am ready to create all necessary conditions for the development of football in Kharkiv, so that we should be first in all terms in the country,” the press service quoted Dobkin as saying.

According to him, the main strategic focus of the Federation will be the development of a sustainable football pyramid with children and youth at its foundation.

The new president of the federation said that more attention should be paid to district competitions, women’s football, beach football and futsal. There are also plans to work out a comprehensive program of the development of football in the region for 2013-2017 years, which is to address such issues as funding, the construction of new football pitches, restoration of existing football infrastructure, creation of the fund to support veterans of Kharkiv football, etc.

Former head of Kharkiv regional football federation Volodymyr Babayev and Kharkiv Mayor Hennadiy Kernes became first deputies of Kharkiv Regional Football Federation.
