Natalia Dovgodko from Kyiv, who took a gold medal in rowing at the 30th Olympic Games in London, will get her own apartment, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has promised.
“Kyiv will not violate the good tradition of addressing the housing issues of Olympic champions this year. Therefore, in the near future, Natalia Dovgodko will get her own apartment,” the administration’s press service quoted him as saying at a meeting with Dovgodko in Kyiv on Monday.
Dovgodko currently lives with her parents and brother, who also represented Ukraine at the Olympic Games in London in the men’s rowing.
Popov also noted that Dovgodko’s father – Viktor Dovgodko – is one of the vice-presidents of the Rowing Federation of Ukraine and a member of the National Olympic Committee.
He has for many years worked with the Kyiv authorities on the development of water sports in the city.
