You're reading: Olympic prize winners receive state awards

Members of Ukraine's Olympic team who won medals at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London have received state awards.

A relevant instruction No. 474/2012 dated August 15 was posted on the Web site of the government on Thursday.

In particular, Olympic boxing champion Vasyl Lomachenko was decorated with the award for merits of the first degree.

Inna Osypenko-Radomska, who took silver in the women’s kayak single 500m, Olympic champion in boxing Oleksandr Usyk, Olha Kharlan, who won bronze in women’s individual sabre, and Taras Shelestiuk, who took bronze in boxing, were awarded with the state award for merits of the second degree.

All other Olympic prize winners received awards for merits of the third degree, Order of Princess Olga of the second and third degrees.

Coaches of the Olympic team also received state awards.
