 Ukraine’s eastern cities of Slovyansk, 90 miles from the border with Russia, and Donetsk, the regional capital, were stormed by gangs of pro-Russia militants on April 12. A band of armed men captured a police station and the local security service headquarters in Slovyansk and raised the Russian flag.
