Ahlul Bayt News Agency: Ukraine hosts Int’l conference on Islamic education

For the first time, a woman is running for the leadership of the political party of the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's most powerful Islamist group. Sabah al-Saqari says she wants to increase female participation in politics and even defends a woman's right to run for president, a stance her organization rejects. But liberals who fear Islamist rule will set back women's rights say her candidacy is just an attempt by the Brotherhood to improve its image.

Ukraine has hosted an International conference on Islamic Education in South East Europe. They put emphasis on the secular societies where Islam has been an integral part. The conference focused on Islamic education in Europe that places strict emphasis on intercultural and interreligious learning.

Islam has a rich, deep history throughout all Europe; therefore Islamic scientists stress the need on establishing Islamic religious education in secular societies. Participants from 22 countries of the third International conference on Islamic Education in South East Europe admit while some in Europe keep on parallelizing Islam with immigration issues.
