The Albanian government has allowed Ukrainian citizens to enter Albania without visas and stay in the country for up to 90 days within 180 days of the date of first entry, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov said at a briefing on Wednesday.

He said that this right had been granted in line with the Albanian government’s decision of May 13, 2011 regarding a change in the requirements in procedures and documents for the entry and stay of foreign citizens in Albania.

Dykusarov noted that Ukrainian citizens should register themselves in a regional department of the border immigration service in Albania within 30 days of entry.

He that the decision by the Albanian government foresaw the cancellation of visas for citizens of Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, who have foreign passports, as well as travel documents issued in Taiwan and China.

Russian citizens were earlier exempted from visas from June 1 to October 31, 2011.
