The amendments to the laws of Ukraine on state procurements regarding procurements being held in accordance with international standards will allow Ukraine to save Hr 50 million a year, Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius has said.

“It’s a very important law, it will allow for saving Hr 50 million a year in reality,” he said after MPs adopted the relevant law at second reading.

A total of 250 MPs voted in favor of the law

The minister promised that in October the government will table the bill on conducting all state procurements digitally in the parliament.

Abromavicius expressed hope that the adoption of such laws will help Ukraine overcome corruption.

“We’ll certainly defeat corruption in the state procurement system,” he said.
