Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has called for cultivating domestic weather-resistant varieties of seeds to ensure rich harvests.

“We are very interested in spreading the work on growing
weather-resistant crops, so we do not have to import seeds, but sow
fields with domestic varieties [of seeds],” he told journalists in Kyiv
region.

According to Azarov, to reach this they needed to develop incentives
for farmers and the approaches that will help widely implement these
highly-efficient technologies.
